Plumbing work in Springwood
We cover the usual range of household plumbing in Springwood: drains, hot water, burst and leaking pipes, taps, toilets, gas fitting and roof plumbing. Where a repair and a replacement are both viable we will explain what each involves and what it means over the life of the fixture, then leave the decision to you.
Our plumbing services in Springwood
Hot water repair, replacement and sizing, blocked drains, burst and leaking pipes, taps and toilets, gas fitting, and roof plumbing and gutters. For a burst pipe or a serious leak, turn the water off at the mains tap before you call. If water is anywhere near power points, the switchboard or light fittings, stay clear and treat it as an electrical hazard. Do not enter standing water in a room with live power.
1. Licensed for the work
Rapid Service Plumbing is a licensed plumbing business and our licence details are published on this site. Plumbing, drainage and gas fitting are licensed trades in New South Wales, and every plumber who attends a job in Springwood is licensed for the work they carry out.2. A written quote before we start
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
3. We find the cause, not just the symptom
A drain that keeps blocking or a tap that keeps dripping usually has an underlying reason. Where it matters we will investigate properly, including a camera inspection on drainage, so you are deciding with the full picture rather than paying twice for the same problem.
4. Options explained, not one answer
Repair and replacement are often both possible, and they suit different situations. We will tell you what each involves and what it means for the life of the fixture, then leave the decision with you.
5. Safety-sensitive work treated as such
Gas, hot water and anything involving water near electrical fittings carry real risk. We will tell you plainly when something should not be attempted at home and when a licensed professional needs to handle it.

Plumbing questions from Springwood residents
Questions we are regularly asked. If yours is not answered here, call the Sydney office on 02 9099 9138.
Is there anything I should do before the plumber arrives?
Clear access to the area if you can, and know where your mains stop tap is. If the problem involves a fixture that is still leaking, turning off the isolating valve under it, or the mains if there is no isolator, prevents further damage while you wait.
Will I know the cost before work starts?
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
We keep running out of hot water. Does that mean the system is faulty?
Not necessarily. On a storage system it can simply mean the tank is too small for the pattern of use, or that recovery is too slow between demands. A fault such as a failed element or heavy sediment produces similar symptoms, so it is worth establishing which before replacing anything.
Two showers at once go lukewarm. Why?
On a continuous flow unit this usually means the combined flow has exceeded what the unit can heat. It is the unit reaching its rated capacity rather than failing. On a storage system it more likely means the tank has been drawn down.
How is the right size worked out?
By looking at how much hot water is used and when it is used, not just how many people live there. Demand concentrated into a short period needs either more stored volume or a faster recovery rate than the same total demand spread across an evening.
