Plumbing help in Rooty Hill
Blocked drains, hot water, leaking pipes, taps, toilets, gas work and roof plumbing are all part of what we do in Rooty Hill. Some jobs are urgent and some can wait for a booking, and we will tell you honestly which one you are dealing with rather than treating everything as an emergency.
Our plumbing services in Rooty Hill
Hot water repair and replacement, blocked drains, burst and leaking pipes, taps and toilets, gas fitting, roof plumbing and gutters, and leak investigation. For a burst pipe or a serious leak, turn the water off at the mains tap before you call. If water is anywhere near power points, the switchboard or light fittings, stay clear and treat it as an electrical hazard. Do not enter standing water in a room with live power.
1. Licensed for the work
Rapid Service Plumbing is a licensed plumbing business and our licence details are published on this site. Plumbing, drainage and gas fitting are licensed trades in New South Wales, and every plumber who attends a job in Rooty Hill is licensed for the work they carry out.2. A written quote before we start
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
3. We find the cause, not just the symptom
A drain that keeps blocking or a tap that keeps dripping usually has an underlying reason. Where it matters we will investigate properly, including a camera inspection on drainage, so you are deciding with the full picture rather than paying twice for the same problem.
4. Options explained, not one answer
Repair and replacement are often both possible, and they suit different situations. We will tell you what each involves and what it means for the life of the fixture, then leave the decision with you.
5. Safety-sensitive work treated as such
Gas, hot water and anything involving water near electrical fittings carry real risk. We will tell you plainly when something should not be attempted at home and when a licensed professional needs to handle it.

Plumbing questions from Rooty Hill residents
Questions we are regularly asked. If yours is not answered here, call the Sydney office on 02 9099 9138.
How do I know whether something is urgent?
As a rough guide, treat it as urgent if water is escaping and you cannot stop it, if there is no water at all, if sewage is coming back inside, or if you can smell gas. Most other problems can be booked in. If water is flowing, turning off the mains stop tap buys time either way.
Will I know the cost before work starts?
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
How do I know whether the reading has actually moved?
Note the full reading including the smaller digits, which are usually a different colour, because those move first. Wait thirty minutes to an hour with no water used anywhere, then read it again. Any movement in those smaller digits means water is passing through the meter.
What is the small spinning dial on my meter?
Most meters include a leak indicator, often a small rotating dial or triangle, designed to turn with even a very low flow rate. If it is moving while nothing in the property is using water, that indicates a loss somewhere on your side of the meter.
The meter is moving but I cannot find any leak. What now?
The next step is narrowing down where. Isolating sections such as the irrigation system, or shutting off individual fixtures one at a time and repeating the test, identifies the area without any digging. A loss on a buried supply line will not show at the surface at all, which is exactly why the meter test matters.
