Plumbing work in Blaxland
From a leaking tap to a hot water replacement, we cover the usual range of household plumbing in Blaxland. The sequence is always the same: work out what is actually wrong, explain it plainly, and put a written quote in front of you before anything begins.
Our plumbing services in Blaxland
Hot water repair, replacement and pipework, blocked drains, burst and leaking pipes, taps and toilets, gas fitting, and roof plumbing and gutters. For a burst pipe or a serious leak, turn the water off at the mains tap before you call. If water is anywhere near power points, the switchboard or light fittings, stay clear and treat it as an electrical hazard. Do not enter standing water in a room with live power.
1. Licensed for the work
Rapid Service Plumbing is a licensed plumbing business and our licence details are published on this site. Plumbing, drainage and gas fitting are licensed trades in New South Wales, and every plumber who attends a job in Blaxland is licensed for the work they carry out.2. A written quote before we start
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
3. We find the cause, not just the symptom
A drain that keeps blocking or a tap that keeps dripping usually has an underlying reason. Where it matters we will investigate properly, including a camera inspection on drainage, so you are deciding with the full picture rather than paying twice for the same problem.
4. Options explained, not one answer
Repair and replacement are often both possible, and they suit different situations. We will tell you what each involves and what it means for the life of the fixture, then leave the decision with you.
5. Safety-sensitive work treated as such
Gas, hot water and anything involving water near electrical fittings carry real risk. We will tell you plainly when something should not be attempted at home and when a licensed professional needs to handle it.

Plumbing questions from Blaxland residents
Questions we are regularly asked. If yours is not answered here, call the Sydney office on 02 9099 9138.
What information helps when I call?
Whatever you can tell us about the pattern. Whether one fixture is affected or several, whether it started suddenly or came on gradually, and whether anything changed just before it began. Those three details narrow the likely cause considerably before anyone arrives, which means less time spent diagnosing on site.
Will I know the cost before work starts?
You get a written quote before any work starts, covering labour, parts and any other costs. If we find something unexpected once we are on site, we stop and talk it through with you before going further.
Why do I wait so long for hot water at one tap but not another?
Distance. The tap with the delay has more pipe between it and the hot water system, so there is more cooled water sitting in the line to clear before hot water arrives. It is a function of the pipe run rather than a fault.
Does insulating hot water pipes actually help?
It slows the rate at which water in the pipe cools between uses, so if a tap is used periodically through the day the wait is shorter. It does not speed up delivery from cold, because the volume of water in the pipe still has to clear.
Should I move my hot water unit closer to the bathroom?
It can reduce the delay, but relocating a unit involves new pipework and possibly gas or electrical work, so it is usually only worth considering when a unit is being replaced anyway. We would set out what the move actually involves before you decide.
