They were punctual and did a very professional job. Anything they dug up, they filled. They left the work area cleaner than they found it. I ended up getting 4 quotes and they had the best price. Our 18-year-old hot water system failed unexpectedly just before we went overseas. Even though it was late at night, Sam responded straight away, talked me through what to check, and arranged to come out the very next morning.

More than one drain is slow at the same time. What does that mean?

It usually means the problem is in the shared line rather than at any single fixture. If one basin is slow, the issue is normally close to that basin. If the shower, the toilet and the kitchen are all struggling, something further down is restricting flow for all of them. That is worth investigating properly rather than plunging each fixture in turn.

Are chemical drain cleaners worth trying first?

Generally not, and they can make things worse. They may clear a light build up in a basin, but they do nothing to roots or a structural fault, and the residue sits in the line.
